Med / Surg RN Job Details

Job Title : Med / Surg Registered Nurse (Travel Nursing)

Location : Charlotte, NC (28203) – North Carolina nursing jobs

Estimated Weekly Salary : $1570-$1680

Healthcare Setting : Emergency Department Holds (Med / Surg / Telemetry)

Shift : 12-hour night shifts (7 : 00pm – 7 : 00am)

Hours : 36 hours per week guaranteed

Contract Length : 13-week travel nursing contract (Start : 10 / 20 / 2025 – End : 1 / 17 / 2026)

Weekend Rotation : Every other weekend

Holiday Coverage : 75% of holidays during contract

Scrub Color : Navy

Parking : Free on-site parking

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active RN license (North Carolina or compact state) – Registered Nurse jobs

Minimum 2 years of recent Med / Surg or Telemetry nursing experience

BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required

Stroke care experience and cardiac rhythm interpretation skills

Proficient in Med / Surg / Tele procedures : trach care, PIV starts, chest tube management, NGT placement, drain / tube management (Dobhoff, PEG tubes, Hemovac, JP drains, flexiseals, foley insertion / management), PCA pumps

Medication gtt management (cardiac drips, heparin, blood products, IVF)

Ability to float to other healthcare facilities within the Charlotte region

EPIC EMR experience preferred

Med / Surg RN Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality patient care in Emergency Department Holds (Med / Surg / Tele)

Manage diverse patient populations : trauma, cardiac, respiratory, GI, mental health, and more

Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms; respond to changes appropriately

Perform and manage nursing procedures : trach care, chest tubes, drains, NGT, etc.

Administer medications, IV infusions, blood products, and cardiac drips

Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams (CNAs, charge nurses, phlebotomy, RTs, hospitalists, intensivists)

Float to other nursing units or facilities in the Charlotte, NC area as needed

Document patient care accurately using EPIC EMR
