Job Description
Family-owned Blue Mountain Animal Clinic in scenic Sequim, WA
About us
At Blue Mountain Animal Clinic, we provide compassionate, high-quality care for pets in Sequim, WA. As a privately owned practice, we prioritize patient care over corporate pressures, fostering a collaborative, family-like environment where your expertise is valued.
Since 1976, Blue Mountain Animal Clinic (BMAC) has been a cornerstone of compassionate veterinary care on the peninsula, founded by the renowned Dr. Jack Thornton.
Joining in 2010, Dr. Nicole Wagnon, a passionate veterinarian with a heart for both animals and people, realized her dream of owning BMAC in 2016, transforming it into the peninsula’s premier veterinary practice. As a BBB winner for 4 years running, we’ve earned our reputation for excellence. Our move to a spacious new facility in 2022 has fueled our growth, with an ever-expanding client base and a vibrant team ready to welcome a new small animal veterinarian! Dr. Wagnon’s vision goes beyond exceptional patient care—she’s committed to fostering a joyful, supportive workplace. “Veterinary medicine is my passion, but creating a thriving, happy team is my mission,” she shares. “I’m dedicated to building a workplace where the daily challenges of vet med are met with camaraderie, balance, and growth opportunities. Every day at BMAC is a chance to make a difference, and I’m so proud of what we’re building together!”
Our Medical Director, Dr. Alexandrea Thiel, who joined 2022, is the heartbeat of our practice. With boundless compassion for patients and staff alike, she ensures top-tier care while championing work-life balance. At BMAC, our dynamic support system sets us apart : each veterinarian is paired with one Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) and one assistant, with two additional staff dedicated to staff appointments and two hospital team members managing kennels daily. This structure lets our DVMs focus on what they love—caring for patients and connecting with clients—while our stellar team handles the rest.
Dr. Andi Thomson, who joined in 2023 after 15 years at another local clinic, brought her loyal clients and two trusted technicians to BMAC, creating a seamless bond that strengthens our workflow and fosters a warm, collaborative environment. This sense of connection is at the core of who we are.
At BMAC, we live by seven core values that define our culture :
1. Direct and Honest Communication – We value clarity and openness.
2. Compassion – For our patients, clients, and each other.
3. Respect & Integrity – Always doing what’s right.
4. Teamwork – Embracing “It’s MY job!” to support one another.
5. Dedication – To excellence in all we do.
6. Positive Attitudes – Bringing energy and optimism every day.
7. We Are Swans – Graceful and professional on the surface, relentlessly driven beneath.
Our “We Are Swans” philosophy captures the BMAC spirit : clients see our calm professionalism, but behind the scenes, we paddle fiercely as a team to deliver unmatched care.
Join a practice free from corporate quotas, focusing on meaningful animal care. “Blue Mountain Animal Clinic is a breath of fresh air. The staff are supportive and friendly, and the work-life balance is phenomenal.”
