Adelphi is seeking a licensed Medical Director to oversee and provide medical leadership within a secured correctional healthcare setting in DuPage County, Illinois. The Medical Director will ensure the delivery of high-quality clinical services, maintain compliance with applicable standards, and provide direct patient care when necessary. Requirements :

• Current and unrestricted Illinois Medical License (MD or DO)
• Board Certification in Internal Medicine, Family Practice, or related specialty
• DEA license and controlled substance registration
• Current CPR certification
• Minimum of five (5) years of clinical experience, including supervisory or leadership experience preferred
• Knowledge of NCCHC and ACA standards and correctional healthcare practices Preferred Qualifications :
• Prior experience providing medical oversight in correctional, institutional, or public health environments
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate interdisciplinary healthcare delivery
• Experience in developing clinical protocols and ensuring regulatory compliance

Responsibilities :

• Serve as the senior clinical authority for all medical services within the facility
• Provide clinical oversight, direction, and evaluation of physicians, nurse practitioners, and nursing staff
• Review and approve policies, procedures, and treatment protocols to ensure compliance with standards of care
• Conduct patient consultations and provide direct care when required
• Supervise the medical aspects of intake screening, chronic disease management, and emergency response
• Participate in quality assurance, performance improvement, and morbidity / mortality reviews
• Collaborate with administrative leadership to ensure adequate staffing, resource utilization, and training
