Job Title : Assistant Chief Engineer

Location : Abilene, TX

Job Summary :

  • Join our client as an Assistant Chief Engineer, where you'll ensure the seamless operation of mission-critical data centre environments. Collaborate with the Chief Engineer to manage facility operations, lead technical teams, and enhance the performance and reliability of data centre infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Assist in managing and coordinating data centre operations and maintenance activities.
  • Supervise and mentor technical staff, including engineers and technicians.
  • Monitor and analyse the performance of critical systems like power and cooling.
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Collaborate with teams to ensure safety and regulatory compliance.
  • Participate in capacity planning and infrastructure upgrades.

    • Essential Skills :

  • 5+ years in data centre operations and management.
  • Strong knowledge of power distribution, cooling systems, and network architecture.
  • Familiarity with industry standards (e.g., ASHRAE, TIA).
  • Excellent problem-solving and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in facility management software.
  • Certification in a relevant area (e.g., CDCP, DCPRO).

    • Preferred Qualifications :

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Experience with energy efficiency and sustainable practices.
  • Knowledge of project management methodologies.
  • Multi-site data center management experience.
