Contractor role will be responsible for following existing processes dealing with VCMTS and RPHY turn ups across the country.
Engineer is part of the NGAN Operations team that is responsible for vCMTS Platform Stand up - Software installation, system and network maintenance
Work is performed in a 24 / 7 ops environment. Must be available to work weekends and holidays on an on call calendar rotation basis, like rest of the team.
Work related experience
3+ years of production operations experience in a 24x7 Environment.
Strong understanding of the following technologies :
1) Unix / Linux Environments
2) Scripting and automation (bash, python, etc...)
3) Proven experience and skill with network troubleshooting and configuration (Certifications - CCNA / JNCIA optional)
4) Proven experience and skill with server hardware and software troubleshooting.
5) Network troubleshooting and configuration (Juniper, Arista or Cisco Networking devices)
6) Work with Product and Project Management to integrate and operationalize new products.
7) Handles incident mitigation for the virtual cable modem termination systems (vCMTS).
8) Participates in on-call rotation with rest of the team. Must be willing and able to work after regular business hours (this can include weekends and holidays)
