Founded in 2007, Gator Grading & Paving, LLC is a Palmetto, Florida-based contractor serving Manatee, Sarasota, Hillsborough, Pinellas, DeSoto, Polk, Charlotte, and Pasco counties. We specialize in constructing all aspects of roadway, residential, commercial, underground water utilities and municipal site construction. • Position Summary :

Gator Grading & Paving, LLC is seeking a proactive and experienced Safety Director to lead our safety operations across multiple construction sites. This role is responsible for developing and implementing safety policies and procedures, conducting field audits, and promoting a culture of safety throughout the organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of OSHA and Department of Labor regulations and a passion for creating an "Incident Free" work environment.

• Key Responsibilities :
• Ensure compliance with federal and state regulatory requirements, including OSHA and Department of Labor standards
• Provide safety support across diverse construction sites to maintain a safe and healthful work environment
• Identify safety needs and implement policies and procedures to achieve an "Incident Free" workplace
• Lead safety committee, offering technical expertise and promoting a safety-first culture
• Develop, recommend, and implement improvements to safety policies and procedures
• Conduct field audits and provide feedback to project and division managers
• Lead incident investigations and prepare detailed reports with root cause analysis and corrective actions
• Document and manage site safety audits, and inspections, including corrective measures taken
• Train site personnel on safety requirements and ensure job-specific training is completed
• Ensure all employees are educated on the company's Drug and Alcohol Policy and safety standards
• Identify and address hazardous conditions or practices on job sites
• Maintain site-specific Safety Data Sheet (SDS) logbooks and ensure proper distribution
• Organize and lead company-wide safety meetings and training
• Monitor compliance of weekly toolbox talks
• Provide OSHA instruction and ensure ongoing compliance
• Obtain and maintain certifications including OSHA and Advanced Maintenance of Traffic (MOT)
• Qualifications and Skills :
• Background in Occupational Safety, Construction Management, or a related field
• 3–5 years of safety experience in the construction industry
• Certified Safety Professional (CSP), CHST, or equivalent certification preferred
• Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety best xmcpwfu practices, specifically in underground water utilities and asphalt paving operations.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
• Ability to travel to various job sites as needed
• Bilingual (English / Spanish) a plus
