Position Overview
We are seeking a Field Inspector I – Electrical to perform routine inspections and quality verification of electrical installations in compliance with project specifications, drawings, and industry standards. This is an entry-level position designed for technically motivated professionals aiming to grow into advanced inspection and QA / QC roles.
The position supports the QC Engineer and works closely with construction and commissioning teams to ensure safe and compliant execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct daily inspections of electrical installations , including conduit routing, cable pulling, panel terminations, grounding, lighting, and equipment connections.
- Verify electrical works against IFC drawings, approved shop drawings, and submittals under the guidance of a senior inspector or QC Engineer.
- Check compliance with NEC (NFPA 70), NFPA 72, IEEE, UL, and local authority regulations .
- Assist in the preparation and execution of Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) for electrical systems.
- Record daily inspection activities and maintain photo documentation, checklists, and punch lists.
- Support testing and verification activities, such as continuity testing, insulation resistance testing, and grounding / bonding checks .
- Report non-conformities and assist in closing NCRs / CARs through re-inspection and documentation updates.
- Coordinate with Construction, QA / QC, and Safety teams to ensure site works adhere to safety and quality requirements.
- Participate in toolbox talks and uphold electrical safety and lockout / tagout practices on site.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical diploma.0–3 years of experience in electrical construction or inspection, preferably on commercial or industrial building projects.Basic knowledge of electrical systems, wiring methods, grounding, and power distribution principles .Familiarity with NEC / NFPA 70 and general electrical safety practices.Proficiency in MS Office .Strong attention to detail, documentation accuracy, and eagerness to learn.Physically fit for field inspections in active construction environments.Preferred Qualifications
OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 safety certification.Familiarity with NETA ATS testing standards or exposure to low-voltage and medium-voltage testing.Understanding NFPA 70E electrical safety requirements.Prior experience assisting with megger tests, grounding continuity checks, or panel inspections .
