Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in patient care and a passion for helping individuals improve their quality of life through therapeutic interventions. You will work with diverse populations, including pediatrics, geriatrics, and individuals with disabilities, providing tailored treatment plans to support their rehabilitation and daily living activities.
Duties
Assess patients' needs and develop individualized care plans that address their specific goals and challenges.
Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) to enhance their independence and functionality.
Implement therapeutic interventions in various settings, including inpatient, outpatient, skilled nursing facilities, and home health environments.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive discharge planning and case management.
Provide education to patients and families regarding treatment plans, home exercises, and adaptive strategies.
Document patient progress accurately using medical terminology and maintain up-to-date records in compliance with regulatory standards.
Engage in early intervention programs for children with developmental delays or disabilities.
Utilize knowledge of physiology and anatomy to inform treatment approaches effectively.
Work with individuals on the autism spectrum by employing specialized techniques tailored to their unique needs.
Participate in clinical supervision of therapy assistants or students as needed.
Experience
Candidates should possess the following skills and experiences :
Experience working in acute care settings, including ICU experience.
Familiarity with occupational health practices and rehabilitation techniques for various populations.
Background in geriatrics, pediatrics, or working with people with disabilities is highly desirable.
Proficiency in developing care plans that incorporate evidence-based practices.
Previous experience in case management or discharge planning is a plus.
Knowledge of speech therapy principles can be beneficial for integrated patient care.
Experience in outpatient clinics or school settings is advantageous.
