The Work
Core Responsibilities:
Assembly & Fabrication
• Construct, modify, and repair top‑level equipment and sub‑assemblies using engineering drawings, bills of material (BOMs), and work instructions.
• Fabricate and terminate cable harnesses, adhering to MIL‑SPEC or IPC wiring standards.
• Populate, solder, and inspect PCB assemblies (through‑hole and surface‑mount) using hand tools and rework stations.
• Produce custom metal, plastic, and composite parts with hand tools, CNC equipment, 3‑D printers.
Documentation & Configuration Control
• Record build steps, part numbers, and revision status in work logs and the electronic document management system (EDMS).
• Update and maintain accurate drawings, BOMs, and assembly instructions to reflect as‑built configurations.
Quality & Compliance
• Perform in‑process inspections using calibrated gauges, micrometers, and visual checks to verify conformance to AS9100/ISO‑9001 standards.
• Identify non‑conformances, tag affected items, and work with engineers to implement corrective actions.
• Participate in internal audits and adhere to Lockheed Martin safety and quality policies.
Support & Collaboration
• Provide technical assistance during prototype builds, hardware hand‑offs, and troubleshooting sessions.
• Coordinate with supply chain to requisition consumables, specialty parts, and prototype components.
• Mentor junior staff or interns on assembly techniques, safety procedures, and documentation practices.
Safety & Facility Maintenance
• Follow all OSHA and Lockheed Martin safety regulations; maintain a clean, organized work area.
• Perform routine maintenance and calibration of tools and equipment.
