We are currently seeking a full-time Project Manager in our Workplace studio to work in our Rochester office. Our Workplace studio designs and works specifically with spaces that run across the Municipal, Commercial, Industrial / Manufacturing, and Science / Technology markets. This Higher Proficiency-to-Expertise level position both manages and documents projects and is expected to build on existing client relationships as well as begin to forge relationships with new clients. The incumbent of this position must be a Licensed Architect or may be unlicensed but carry 15+ years of Architectural design experience.
Job Description
- Be familiar with firm-client contract or agreement for the design and delivery of the project and the client’s objectives and expectations totaling up to and including approximately $10M construction value.
- Review project scope, client’s RFP, and SWBR’s proposal. Organize a work plan to accomplish those objectives.
- Develop a Resource Plan to initiate the financial accounting requirements and add to firm-wide project scheduling.
- Develop a design and production plan and be responsible for its implementation, updating, and accomplishment.
- Obtain and supervise the services of outside consultants as required.
- Communicate and meet with project team to disseminate the necessary information to complete their tasks.
- Develop schedule and staff needs to meet the client’s and firm expectations; update periodically.
- Keep the client, Principal-in-charge, SWBR Accounting Department informed on the status of the project.
- Review regularly the budgeted fee, financial performance reports and make necessary adjustments to stay within budget.
- Participate in necessary meetings with designers and project team to direct and lead the project workflow and schedule compliance.
- Consult with all the appropriate Public Authorities and determine that their objectives are being met.
- Determine what codes and regulations are applicable to the project and communicate them with all team members.
- Manage and attend any public meetings as necessary to assure all public authority approvals are obtained (if included in project scope).
- Monitor and review all contract documents and specifications for completeness, correctness, and coordination.
- Assist client during bidding phase with questions and understanding the contracts
- Interpret the contract documents and specifications during the construction phase for all interested parties.
- Provide services defined in approved firm-client contract or agreement for construction administration.
- Review employee performance with respect to the project expectations and goals.
- This position regularly and customarily directs work of less experienced staff and ensures that the work meets the proper standards of quality and quantity. They would be expected to continually train and mentor staff with whom they are currently working.
Job Requirements
Has a 4-year or 5-year degree from an accredited program in Architecture; an advanced degree in this field is preferredNYS license to practice architecture is required along with a minimum of 7-10 years of related architectural experience. Experience with Municipal, Commercial, Science / Technology, Manufacturing, and Industrial projects is highly preferredIf unlicensed, 15+ years of architectural design experience plus project management experience is requiredIs a proficient user of Microsoft Office, especially Word, Excel, and PowerPointIndividual will work in a normal office setting and occasionally visit active construction sites, and must be physically able to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, and keyboard.Position requires occasional lifting, up to a maximum of 25 pounds.Base Salary Information
$93,352 - $116,815
The above salary range represent a good faith range for incumbents of this position. Actual offers will be based on experience, education level, and demonstrated skills and will be at the discretion of the employer.
