POSITION SUMMARY
NCCER Core Construction Curriculum Instructor is responsible for teaching approved curriculum to students. In this role, you will play a vital part in equipping our trainees with the knowledge and skills they need to thrive in the construction industry. You will deliver an engaging and effective NCCER-accredited curriculum, ensuring trainees graduate with industry-recognized credentials and are prepared for successful careers.
Qualifications
- Develop and deliver NCCER-accredited construction training programs, adhering to all curriculum guidelines and NCCER standards.
- Must be punctual and dependable in making sessions and preparing them in advance, including preparing material and classroom for activities while maintaining safety and coordinating with appropriate staff as required
- Utilize a variety of instructional methods to cater to diverse learning styles, including classroom lectures, hands-on activities, and demonstrations.
- Effectively assess trainee knowledge and skills through written and practical evaluations
- Stay current on industry trends and best practices in construction safety and skills.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes respect and collaboration.
- Collaborate with industry partners to ensure training programs meet current workforce needs.
- Ability to exhibit good interpersonal skills and work well with others
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Be innovative, creative, and motivated
- Ability to maintain records accurately and be able to meet deadlines consistently
- Ability to interact, teach, and communicate with a diverse population of students
- Excellent organizational skills Knowledge of and facility with technology and software including, computers, and online learning resources such as Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and Google Meet.
- Ability to perform normal duties with minimal supervision
Minimum Requirements :
High School DiplomaAt least three (3) years of hands-on experience in construction , or experience at a journey-level or technician level in a specific trade.Preferences :
NCCER certified instructor with current credentials (Required)Required to pass a criminal background check and the Arizona Department of CorrectionsResponsibilities
The instructor ensures that all core competencies are covered and prepares students to pass professional examsInstructs and guides the class in an efficient and effective mannerMaintains accurate records of student work and attendancePrepares thoroughly for each instructional hourMaintains a safe and orderly learning environmentCounsels students regarding their grades and progress in the courseEnsures classroom materials and equipment are used to support the goals of the courseUses assessment techniques to improve learning and teachingRemains up-to-date on technology and methods of teaching with technologyCan use motivation techniques to help stimulate a personal interest in the subject matter and establish and communicate clear learning objectives for all activitiesMust be able to modify and implement set lesson plans for specified courses to best support preparation for subsequent certification examsUtilize flexible and creative approaches to meet student needs, discourage student withdrawal, and maintain retention goalsCommunicate necessary information regularly to students and colleagues regarding student progress and student needsCollaborate with Leadership and support to meet the academic and career needs of all studentsAssign class work, homework, tests, and activities following the lesson plan and grade assignments in a timely fashion providing education and feedback to students to reinforce their understanding of the material and report on this progress as scheduled by internal stakeholdersThorough knowledge of hand and power tools and specific safety requirements when working with these toolsPreferred Qualifications
The instructor must maintain current certification / license during employment as an instructor with the Arizona Career Development CenterExcellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with multiple constituencies to achieve mission goalsStrong analytical skills, attention to detail, and oral, written, and presentation skills, including proficiency with in MS Office Word, PPT, and emailNCCER Core Instructor, NCCER Master Trainer or Craft Instructor approved by the ATS to teach NCCER Curriculum, or ability to be approved by the ATS
