CNC Machinist- Horizontal Setup (1st shift)

The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to handle and feel, as well as reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and / or move up to 30 pounds. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Position Summary

At Plastic Distributors & Fabricators (PDF), CNC Horizontal Machinists are essential to producing large, complex components with precision and efficiency. In this role, you will set up, operate, and adjust CNC horizontal machining centers (HMCs) to create high-quality plastic and aluminum parts. You will work closely with production, engineering, and quality teams to ensure parts meet tight specifications and quality standards.

What You Will Be Doing

• Set up and operate CNC horizontal machining centers according to engineering drawings, blueprints, and work instructions.
• Select, install, and align tooling, fixtures, and workpieces.
• Adjust machine settings and offsets to optimize machining processes and maintain part quality.
• Perform first article, in-process, and final inspections using precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, etc.).
• Interpret complex drawings and GD&T specifications.
• Troubleshoot machining issues and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Accurately complete production and quality documentation.
• Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient work environment, adhering to all safety protocols.
• Other duties as assigned
