Position Overview

The Automotive Technician is responsible for performing intermediate-advanced level diagnostic and repair tasks on a variety of vehicles. This role involves identifying mechanical issues, performing routine maintenance, and conducting repairs under the guidance of senior technicians or shop foreman. The Technician is expected to have a solid understanding of automotive systems and repair techniques, and demonstrate the ability to work independently while occasionally assisting or mentoring less experienced technicians.

Key Responsibilities

Diagnostics and Troubleshooting :

Perform diagnostic tests to identify vehicle issues using computerized diagnostic equipment and other tools.

• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical problems, determining the root cause of malfunctions.

Repairs and Maintenance :

Conduct intermediate-advanced level repairs on engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension systems, and other vehicle components.

Technical Proficiency :

Use technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and other resources to aid in repairs and diagnostics.

Quality Assurance :

Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles before and after repairs to ensure all work meets quality standards.

Collaboration and Communication :

Work closely with service advisors to understand customer concerns and provide accurate repair estimates.

Tool and Equipment Maintenance :

Maintain and organize personal and shop tools and equipment.

Safety and Compliance :

Follow all safety protocols and use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
