Neurosurgery Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Overview : Join our dynamic 24-bed Neurosurgical Unit, where you will have the opportunity to care for a diverse and complex patient population. This includes post-operative craniotomies, spine surgeries, and patients as part of our Comprehensive Stroke Program. Be a part of the Aurora Neuroscience Innovation Institute, gaining exposure to the latest neurosurgical techniques and cutting-edge care.

Your Commitment to Patients : As a Registered Nurse, you will deliver and coordinate comprehensive, evidence-based patient care. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe, therapeutic, and compassionate care, always applying clinical judgment and skilled communication for optimal outcomes.

Responsibilities :

• Utilize the nursing process to assess patient needs, plan interventions, and evaluate care effectiveness.
• Anticipate and recognize significant changes in patients' conditions and adjust the care plan accordingly.
• Implement strategies to enhance patient safety and readiness to learn, tailoring approaches to each patient's needs.
• Actively coordinate discharge plans through an interdisciplinary approach, applying evidence-based practices.
• Evaluate patient and team outcomes and support shared governance initiatives to enhance processes and results.
• Demonstrate effective communication and conflict resolution skills, fostering collaboration among team members.
• Promote a culture of safety by identifying and addressing any potential threats to patient safety.
• Engage in quality improvement initiatives and participate in your professional development.

Qualifications :

Physical Requirements : Must be able to perform physical tasks like lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods. This position may expose you to chemical and hazardous waste, so protective equipment will be provided.
