About The Position

Must-Have : Experience with high-risk antepartum and labor management

Description :

Perm candidates from other facilities are eligible for a travel contract if they have been separated for at least 3 months.

All facilities honor active compact licenses.

First-time travelers are welcome.

Candidates with less than 2 years of experience or no experience with C-sections will be screened out.

Intermediate AWHONN certification is required for manager approval.

Floating to the postpartum unit is required.

The unit cares for high-risk antepartum patients, ranging from 6 weeks to 41 weeks.

Conditions treated include preterm labor, previa, preeclampsia, diabetes, hypertension, PROM, twins, and substance use disorders in pregnancy.

Candidates may care for patients experiencing fetal demise or loss, both antepartum and postpartum.

Care for postpartum mothers with a baby in the NICU is included, but no newborns are cared for on this unit.

The unit provides support for amnio or sterile speculum exams at the bedside.

Key equipment utilized includes PCA pumps, PICC / central lines, syringe pumps, heparin, insulin, and magnesium sulfate.

Candidates will assist with sterile speculum exams and maintain central lines.

They will administer anticoagulants, insulin drips, and magnesium sulfate therapy.

Candidates will also circulate for C-sections.

All sensitive onboarding items must be completed promptly.

Candidates should prepare to provide supervisory references covering up to a year of experience within the last 3 years.
