Key Responsibilities :
- Execute physician orders, administer medications, start IVs, and perform various treatments and tests while ensuring all actions are documented in line with company policies and regulations.
- Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to identify and assess a patient's condition effectively.
- Consistently assess and evaluate patient needs and their responses to the care provided.
- Utilize sound nursing judgment to manage patient care decisions efficiently.
- Deliver primary and emergency care for both occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses.
- Administer prescribed medications as directed, both over-the-counter and prescription.
- Collaborate with nursing colleagues to develop and implement comprehensive Plans of Care for each patient.
- Guide and direct ancillary personnel, maintaining high standards of professional nursing practice.
Minimum Qualifications :
Graduate from a professional nursing program with a Diploma, Associate Degree, or Baccalaureate Degree.Current New York State Registered Nurse license required.Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) must be obtained and maintained.1-3 years of clinical RN experience in Med-Surg or Progressive Care preferred.Strong communication, prioritization, organizational, and time-management skills are essential.Knowledge of quality concepts and problem-solving techniques is necessary, with demonstrated ability to apply these in support of departmental and patient care quality improvement efforts.Thank you for considering a career with Albany Medical Center!
