We are currently seeking a Board-Certified / Board Eligible Nurse Practitioner - Orthopedics for an exciting Locum opportunity in Mason City, IA

Start Date : As soon as credentialed! Schedule : 8a-5p, Mon- Fri with call

Compensation : $140 an hour

Position Overview :

Inpatient responsibilities : Yes - rounding on post-op patients, inpatient / ED consults, OR

Telehealth : NO.

Job Responsibilities : Clinical, Surgical and Trauma / Orthopedic Call

Number of Physicians : 4 Physicians as of July 2025 with Locum call coverage

Number of Advanced Practice Providers :

Nursing Support : 1 nurse / provider, 3 cast techs / 7 providers

Ancillary Staff per Provider : 3 Reception / 7 providers, 2 Surgery Schedulers / 7 providers

Number of Exam Rooms per Provider : 2 exam rooms and 3 cast rooms

Medical Imaging : YES.

Lab : YES.

Pharmacy : YES.

Average Daily Hospital Practice Census : Mainly consults, current avg hospital daily census 160 pts / day

Appointment Length : 10-30 mins depending on new consult, recheck, post-op, or procedure

Demographics : Hub Hospital, Serve 16 surrounding counties, Population 200,000+

EMR : GE Centricity for clinic. EPIC for hospital.

Teaching Opportunity : IM and FM residency. PA student rotation.

Facility will accept new grads.

Estimated Credentialing Timeframe : 60-90 days

Procedures offered in the practice :

Total hip, knee, and shoulder replacement.

Hand, wrist, knee, shoulder, hip, ankle, and foot surgical procedures.

Trauma injuries, fracture care, sports medicine, and other disorders.
