POSTING INFORMATION Internal Title Advanced Assistant or Associate Professor of Teacher Education (Ed.D.) Position Type Tenure-track School / Area School of Education Department Teacher Education Position Description The School of Education at the College of Charleston is seeking applicants for a tenure-track advanced assistant professor or associate professor for a nine-month position beginning August 16, 2026. The Department of Teacher Education has recently launched an inaugural Doctor of Education (EdD) program in Learning and Inquiry in Practice. This faculty member will be expected to contribute significantly to the success of the new program by assisting in recruiting prospective students, advising matriculating students, and providing administrative support to EdD teaching and mentoring faculty.

Duties Include :

• Advancing the EdD program by teaching courses related to improvement science, research and assessment, contemporary systems and change, grant writing, and program evaluation
• Maintaining a scholarly research agenda, including publishing in peer-reviewed journals
• Advising and mentoring doctoral students by serving on dissertation committees as chair or committee member
• Providing service to the department, college, and other educational, professional, and public organizations
• Serving the larger academic community by participating in professional associations at the local, state, regional, and national / international levels
