Job Responsibility Description

Main Activities

1 Operates a semi-truck according to applicable state and federal transportation laws.

2 Transports loads safely and in a timely manner over required route, obeying all traffic laws and observing all safety regulations.

3 Deftly maneuvers truck and trailer into loading and unloading areas; follows loading crew signals.

4 Load container / trailer to schedule deliveries a day to LTL/FCL.

5 Determine and implement the most efficient way to order delivery and plan routes. Coordinating with supervisor about any problems

6 Use immediate and clear communication on the progress of deliveries.

7 Make proper collection of empty trailers/containers. Check that the container / trailer are properly hooked and match with documents on hand.

8 Maintains signed invoices, shipping bills of lading, Proof of Delivery (POD), and other required paperwork for daily function; delivers documentation to shipping office or other appropriate staff when delivery route is complete

9 Facilitates routine service on trucks, which may include checking oil, water, gasoline, and air; reports maintenance malfunctions to Dispatch/Safety.

10 Remove empty pallets from the trailer box and take them to the designated area.

11 Arranges trailers in shipping yards for optimum loading patterns.

12 TMT trucks parked in the designated area and prepared for the next day's operations.

13 Assist in Warehouse and / or Terminal functions when the delivery work is complete

14 Securely lock wheels and rear axles of the trailer before any loading and unloading. Remove manual brake before driving in and out of the warehouse.

15 Performs other related duties as assigned.
