Position Title : Postdoctoral Research Fellow-Cardiac / Vascular Cellular / molecular Biology

Department : Heart Institute Basic Science Research Department.

Salary Range : $52500 $55000

Summary

The Division of Surgical Research at Heart Institute Morsani School of Medicine University of South Florida is seeking applications for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow focused on cardiovascular physiology pharmacology and related cellular molecular biology. A fully equipped laboratory is available in a state-of- the-art facility with access to advanced core resources. ( candidate will participate in a research program in basic cardiovascular physiology pharmacology and related cellular / molecular biology. The candidates will design test and evaluate the methods and protocols analyze summarize and organize data along with the principal investigator the applicants must be highly motivated with some experiences in vascular research related molecular biology. Additional experiences in SiRNA / RNA analysis site-direct mutagenesis Array mitochondrial analysis and cardiomyocytes and endothelial cell culture are highly desired.

In discussion with supervisor(s) conducts experiments and analysis according to established research protocols and research methodology.

Develops new research protocols to carry out established research objectives.

Participates in the design of research protocols to achieve the scientific objectives to allow quantitative and qualitative evaluation and interpretation of data obtained.

Collects and analyzes data using bioinformatic phylogenetic and statistical methodologies and software.

Participates in interpretation of the results through conferences with supervisor(s) and other researchers to review data compared to hypothesis and research methodology in instances of inexplicable data.

Reviews / summarizes literature pertaining to research being conducted in the scientific area of interest.

Writes presentations and manuscripts based on research performed.

Performs other duty as assigned.

Qualifications

Qualifications and Requirements

Candidates should have a PhD and / or MD degree in biochemistry cellular / molecular biology and / or physiology / pharmacology in cardiovascular medicine.
