Insight Contracting - General Laborer
Pay: $20.00 – $26.00 per hour.
Benefits: Paid Time Off, Sick Time, and Company contribution to medical plans.
Employment Type: Full-Time.

Job Overview:
Insight Contracting is looking for reliable and motivated General Laborers to join our team for rental unit remodeling and maintenance projects. This is a hands-on role where you will report to a foreman daily, receiving task assignments and valuable learning experiences in the construction and remodeling fields. The work will involve both commercial and residential projects, with tasks ranging from full remodels to smaller touch-up work.

The ideal candidate will have some experience in the construction industry, be able to provide basic tools, and be familiar with safety standards to ensure the security of the project. You should be capable of working independently while also being an effective team member.

Key Responsibilities:
  • General Construction: Install doors, windows, trim, molding, and drywall to repair holes or cover wear (including scraping popcorn ceilings).
  • Plumbing & Electrical: Install and repair faucets, toilets, hot water tanks, garbage disposals, dishwashers, and light electrical fixtures such as ceiling lights and fans.
  • Exterior Maintenance: Perform tasks like picking up trash, maintaining flower beds, trimming trees, removing fallen leaves, watering lawns, and repairing siding and gutters.
  • Snow Removal: Assist with snow removal duties (shoveling, plowing, spreading ice melt) during the winter months.
  • Inventory & Organization: Maintain a clean, organized inventory of tools and materials in company storage and vehicles.
  • Team Collaboration: Communicate effectively with the foreman and team members to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Safety Compliance: Use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when required for specific tasks.
  • Time Tracking: Accurately log work performed at each job site using a service-tracking app on a mobile device.
  • Tracking Protocols: Adhere to and actively promote company tracking protocols and procedures, including using data for billing confirmation, emergency response optimization, safe-driving habits, and recording driving data in case of an incident.
  • Other Duties: Perform additional tasks as needed to support property maintenance and remodeling projects.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Experience: 2+ years of construction experience preferred, with basic handyperson skills.
  • License: Valid driver’s license with a corporate-insurable driving record.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to grasp, lift, maneuver, rotate, and use various trades tools and equipment. Must be able to lift and carry heavy objects (50-80 lbs.).
