Must pass a motor vehicle background inspection, insurance eligibility, driving qualifications, and training set forth by Nationwide Children's Hospital and must maintain qualification under insurance guidelines.
Job Description Summary : Patrols, monitors, and secures assigned areas, patients, visitors, and employees to ensure safety and security.
Job Description : Essential Functions :
- Performs random and frequent patrols as assigned in designated areas on foot, motor vehicle, or bicycle and monitors security cameras
- Intervenes in interpersonal conflict or criminal acts safely and effectively to maintain order, providing appropriate detention, restraint, or removal from premises
- Conducts preliminary investigations and reports criminal, safety, and security incidents
- Maintains accurate documentation of daily activities and incidents
- Responds to and provides assistance in emergency situations and internal disaster incidents
- Performs staff and visitor escorts, transportation vehicle assistance, and lock / unlock activities
- Enforces hospital parking policies and procedures
- Responds safely, effectively, and efficiently (SEE) to all related matters that come to their attention and in the performance of activities as assigned
Education Requirement : High School diploma required
Licensure Requirement : Valid Ohio driver's license and proof of auto insurance as required by hospital policy and position-specific requirements. Upon hire, the Officer will undergo a 4 to 6-week training cycle on the floor and in a classroom setting under the supervision of a Senior Officer, working multiple shifts and locations for familiarization and experience, and learning physical intervention and verbal techniquesOfficer will be required to complete the IAHSS Basic Security Officer training within the first six months of being hired at the officer's expense. Once successfully completed, the Security Department will reimburse the officer for the cost of the testPhysical Requirements :
