Developer Job Duties :

  • Analyze user requirements, develop and implement system features and functionality with the team.
  • Design and conduct unit and integration tests.
  • Design and create custom reports and update / maintain existing ones.
  • Design, implement and maintain internal tooling for SDLC (software development life cycle).
  • Self-manage work via ticketing system.
  • Contribute to team meetings; troubleshoot development and production problems across multiple environments and operating platforms.
  • Supports users by developing documentation and assistance tools.
  • Work closely with the Business Analysts to support development needs in IFS
  • Updates job knowledge by researching new internet / intranet technologies and software products; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.

Developer Skills and Qualifications :

  • Programming Languages : Proficiency in Java, and ideally several other popular programming languages like Python, JavaScript, Rust, C or C++, Objective-C
  • Objected Oriented Methodology : Understand polymorphism , encapsulation, and the other pillars of O-O programming.
  • Data Structures and Algorithms : A solid understanding of how to organize and process data efficiently
  • Software Engineering Practices : Knowledge of best practices for software development, such as version control, debugging (using debuggers in an IDE or command line), testing, and agile methodologies
  • Problem-solving : The ability to analyze problems and develop effective solutions
  • Communication : Effective verbal and written communication skills are essential for collaborating with other team members
  • Collaboration : Working effectively as part of a team
  • Continuous learning : Stay up to date with the latest technologies and trends in the industry
  • Ability to take direction, communication and supervision from others and upper levels of management

    • Work Location / Schedule :    On site in Minneapolis-based office.  Monday-Friday day shift, flexible. Travel : 0 – 10%
