Job Description & Requirements
Title : CVOR Surgical Technologist (CVOR Tech) – Surgical Services
Location : Columbus, OH
Duration : 13 weeks
Shift : Nights, 4x10-Hour (18 : 30–07 : 00)
Job Responsibilities :
Scrub and assist in complex cardiovascular, thoracic, and vascular surgical procedures
Support CVOR cases including CABG, valve replacements, EVAR, TEVAR, TAVR, and VAD procedures
Assist with vascular surgeries such as AAA repair, carotid endarterectomy, fem-pop bypass, and endovascular repairs
Scrub for thoracic procedures including thoracotomy, lung resections, and VATS
Maintain strict aseptic technique and adhere to universal protocol and time-out procedures
Prepare, manage, and troubleshoot specialized CVOR equipment including cell saver, electrosurgical units, crash carts, and fiber optic equipment
Perform accurate instrument, sponge, and needle counts
Assist with specimen handling, labeling, and documentation
Participate in trauma and emergency surgical cases within a Level I Trauma setting
Support cardiovascular and thoracic instrument reprocessing as needed
Participate in required call coverage and flexible night scheduling
Required Skills & Experience :
Minimum 5 years total Certified Surgical Technologist experience ( required )
Minimum 2 years dedicated cardiac and vascular surgery experience
Minimum 1 year CVOR experience
Minimum 1 year experience in a Level I Trauma facility
Strong scrub experience required
Experience across CVOR, General OR, Hybrid OR, Thoracic, and Vascular cases
Ability to work flexible night shifts with call
Required Certifications & Licensure :
BLS – American Heart Association (required)
Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) (required)
