Full-time RN - Clinical Coordinator, LVPN Nursing Program

Excellent benefits package

Salary : $110,000 - $115,000

The RN Clinical Coordinator for VNPN Nursing is responsible for planning, coordinating, and assessing clinical education experiences to ensure students meet program requirements and clinical objectives. This role manages clinical site development, preceptor and faculty training, scheduling, and compliance with state and accreditation standards. The Clinical Coordinator serves as a liaison between the academic institution and affiliated clinical sites, ensuring effective communication and collaboration with preceptors, faculty, and students. The position also supports classroom, simulation, and lab instruction as needed, providing coverage and guidance to maintain program quality. This role requires strong organizational skills, problem-solving ability, and expertise in clinical education and nursing practice.

Responsibilities

  • Clinical Program Administration Coordinate and schedule student clinical and lab hours, including make-up sessionsVerify that students meet clinical objectives on a weekly and monthly basisMaintain documented communications with all clinical affiliates regarding schedules, testing, and compliance requirementsDevelop new clinical sites and maintain relationships with current affiliatesConduct site visits to monitor instructors, preceptors, and students, and document findingsEnsure compliance with clinical site requirements including health forms, immunizations, and physical examinations
  • Faculty and Preceptor Support Conduct preceptor orientation at the start of each term and as neededTrain and support new clinical faculty and preceptorsPartner with course instructors and simulation coordinators to implement simulation experiences in lieu of clinical hours when necessaryProvide clinical site coverage as needed
  • Instruction and Student Advisement Advise students daily and document advisement in CampusNexusAssist with pre-clinical classroom, lab, and simulation instructionEnsure timely evaluation and documentation of student performance, attendance, and clinical assignmentsSupport orientation of new students and provide guidance on clinical requirements
  • Program Operations and Compliance Complete compliance reports, assessments, and action plansMaintain clinical site folders, contracts, and records including the clinical injury logInventory, procure, and maintain clinical lab equipment and supplies, reporting deficiencies to the Program Director or Academic DeanAttend program graduation, pinning ceremonies, and advisory board meetingsSubmit quarterly goals and objectives to the Director of Nursing or Clinical DirectorParticipate in marketing and outreach to secure new clinical affiliatesMaintain master clinical schedules, assignment boards, and student clinical folders
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Qualifications

    Education / Experience

  • Must meet approval and qualifications of applicable State Board on Nursing in order to hold the position.
  • Sufficient experience in nursing education to demonstrate professional competence.
  • Active and unencumbered CA Registered Nurse license.
  • Must meet corporate and regulatory requirements.
  • California Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from an accredited school (required) MSN preferred Must have three (3+) or more years of consistent nursing instruction experience teaching in a state-accredited nursing program (required) Minimum four (4) years of full-time nursing experience within the last five (5) years (required)
  • Strong organizational and time management skills (required)
  • Ability to coordinate and schedule clinical placements for large student cohorts (required)
  • Advanced knowledge of clinical program compliance and regulatory requirements (required)
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills (required)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and student information systems such as CampusNexus (preferred)
  • Ability to problem solve using critical thinking and clinical judgment (required)
  • Experience with simulation-based instruction
  • Preferred experience in site onboarding, multi-site management, affiliation agreements, and health record tracking

  • Work Environment

  • Work is performed indoors in a climate-controlled environment when on site at assigned company location. Employees must be able to safely ambulate when on company premises.
  • This position is designated as On-Campus or On-site ; Work environments may include exposure to student learning environments with a variety of conditions. Employees must be able to follow all safety precautions including the use of personal-protective equipment. Employees must also be able to adhere to site-specific safety procedures.
