_American Rooter LLC is a small family business located in Watertown, CT. We run a 24-hour, 365 day per year, Plumbing and Drain Service company in the Water, Sewer, Storm, Septic, and Grease Trap Solutions Industries. Day-to-day operations are carried out by our valued Plumbers, Drain Service Technicians, and Equipment Operators. We provide Plumbing, Drain Cleaning, Pump Truck & Vac Truck Services, Pipe Repair & Excavation, and Pipe Lining. We also provide customers with many other industry-related services._
This is a full-time service plumbing position dedicated to installs, repairs, replacements, and maintenance service plumbing. Our commercial and residential plumbers are dedicated to the plumbing division which excludes drain cleaning. Normal business hours are from 8 : 00 a.m. to 4 : 30 p.m., Monday through Friday with limited and pre-approved exceptions. All jobs are to be completed as assigned throughout the day, even if it requires working past 4 : 30. All weeknight, weekend, and holiday hours are rotated amongst service personnel who are subject-to-on-call 24 hours per day with limited exceptions. Subject-to-on-call- duty is a requirement of service personnel that requires regular overtime hours.
Service staff also lift, push, pull, and utilize heavy equipment or materials; and must be able to lift at least 150 pounds vertically. Equipment is often carried up and down flights of stairs and ladders, or over long distances. Operation of equipment also involves pulling heavy tools, supplies, and materials which require horizontal pulling and pushing capacities (sometimes overhead) of more than 200 lbs. In addition, service personnel are often exposed to extreme heights as well as crawl spaces, trenches, and other tight work areas. Tasks often require an individual to be active, sitting, standing, bending, kneeling, holding, or gripping for extended periods. All service personnel must be able to perform all duties and responsibilities under all circumstances, always, safely, and professionally.
Safely and effectively operate service vehicles, trailers, tools, and equipment needed to perform the numerous plumbing and related services provided by American Rooter.
Including but not limited to :
Diagnose and troubleshoot residential, commercial, and industrial plumbing issues and provide the best solutions independently.
Provide solutions for plumbing services in accordance with and knowledge of plumbing codes and building knowledge such as cutting into joists and support structures.
Install, repair, and service supply lines, valves, fittings, drainage systems, and fixtures including but not limited to bathtubs, shower bases, walk-in baths, lavatories, toilets, etc.
Skilled use of hand and power tools used in the plumbing trade.
Have a deep understanding of the costs of plumbing repairs, materials, and supplies.
Collaborates with other trade professionals and staff to coordinate job completion
Assist other operations and crews as needed.
Receiving, completing, and processing job quotes, work orders, invoices, and payments as assigned, both efficiently and correctly.
Communicating with other staff and administration, in the field and office, to ensure safe, efficient, and effective use of time and resources to complete company tasks.
Responsible for the safety of himself and his co-workers and the public, in and around a job site or work area.
Expected to drive legally and safely from job site to job site, professionally representing American Rooter LLC, assisting, or leading company tasks, sales, and service processes.
Participating in subject-to-on-call shifts rotated amongst service personnel for 24-hour related emergencies as assigned.
Responsible for job-site safety, preparation, and cleanliness before, during, and after providing services.
Interact and directly communicate with customers, office, or staff to assist in service, sales, payment collections, and processing professionally.
Securing, cleaning, maintaining, and repairing equipment, tools, and vehicles assigned to you.
Securing, cleaning, maintaining, and repairing American Rooter LLC plant, office, and property.
Promptly notify the office, management, or administration of any concerns or issues prohibiting or limiting your ability or others to carry out duties contained here-in.
Ability to meet the above requirements and responsibilities.
Journeyman Plumbing license, P2
1-year minimum Lourneyman Plumbing license and experience
Ability to pass a drug test and background check.
High school diploma or (GED) equivalent.
Current valid driver's license and safe driving record.
Self-motivated and works well independently but also excels in joint work and working collaboratively in a fast-paced work environment.
The ability to understand and apply technical knowledge, read blueprints, and install, repair, or replace as planned.
Ability to remain flexible and assist other staff and departments in a team approach when needed.
Strong problem-solving, assessment, and attention to detail skills.
Strong consultative sales and customer service skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to maintain high-intensity physicality for extended periods.
5+ years' experience in plumbing and / or mechanical.
