[job_card.job_description]Diagnostic Nuclear Medicine / Nuclear Cardiology Conduct quality control testing on imaging equipment Review physician orders for appropriateness Prepare patients and administer radiopharmaceuticals Insert IV catheters as required Acquire and process images using gamma cameras, PACS, and nuclear medicine management systems Troubleshoot technical and clinical issues Radiopharmaceutical Preparation Manage Tc99m kits and bulk supplies Ensure quality control and compliance with sterile technique Radioactive Material Management Ensure compliance with departmental, hospital, and New York State regulations Therapeutic Nuclear Medicine Ensure all pre-testing and documentation is complete Administer therapeutic doses safely while following all radiation safety precautions Mobile Nuclear Cardiology Safely transport, set up, and operate equipment in varied environments Work independently alongside physicians, nurses, and patients Patient Care Maintain patient safety and comfort throughout all procedures Compliance & Education Maintain continuing education credits and required certifications Attend annual training and educational programs Customer Service Support a positive patient experience throughout the diagnostic process Current certification or eligibility for certification in Nuclear Medicine by NMTCB or ARRT Formal 2- or 4-year degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology (preferred) Eligibility for New York State Nuclear Medicine Technologist licensure Valid driver's license and insurability BLS certification (required within 90 days of hire) Up to $15,000 sign-on bonus Excellent benefits package Opportunity to work with advanced imaging systems in a variety of settings Supportive team environment with professional growth potential Why Elmira, NY? Main Function
- We are seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technologist to perform a wide range of diagnostic and therapeutic Nuclear Medicine procedures across hospital and physician office settings. This position reports directly to the Supervisor of Nuclear Medicine and offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to high-quality patient care while working with advanced imaging technology.
Key Responsibilities
Perform a full range of diagnostic procedures with precision and accuracy
Order, prepare, and calculate doses of radiopharmaceuticals
Oversee ordering, receiving, distributing, and storage of radioactive materials and waste
Coordinate with referring offices and radiologists for therapy planning
Travel to physician offices across NY and PA using a mobile gamma camera system
Provide compassionate, age-appropriate care for neonates through geriatrics
Participate in accreditation activities and departmental policy compliance
Demonstrate excellent patient interaction skills by providing care in a friendly, professional, and attentive manner
Requirements
Experience : One year preferred, but motivated new graduates will be considered.
