Full-Time Clinical-Track Faculty: Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing (School of Nursing)

Quinnipiac University's School of Nursing invites applicants who are dynamic clinicians and educators for a full-time 12-month clinical track faculty position. The successful candidate will be a doctorally-prepared nurse educator who will teach across the school’s undergraduate and graduate nursing programs. The candidate will have experience in the clinical areas of behavioral and mental health including certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) with expertise in teaching in didactic, clinical, and laboratory environments.

This is a full-time, 12-month clinical track faculty position within the School of Nursing.

About the School:

The School of Nursing serves a total of 1100 graduate and undergraduate students. Faculty and staff collaborate with colleagues in our Center for Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences and all schools across campus to create innovative interprofessional educational experiences that prepare students for today's health care challenges. The Center is located at our North Haven, CT campus and encompasses 325,000 square feet designed for collaborative learning including forty-eight pro-section stations, sixteen standardized patient rooms, an exceptional health sciences library, seven high-fidelity simulation rooms including 2 ORs and a PACU, health assessment and skills labs, advanced diagnostic imaging equipment and classrooms outfitted with the latest technology. As one of sixteen schools in the nation with holistically endorsed programs, we emphasize the social, emotional, spiritual, and psychological aspects of care, as well as the physical, throughout our nursing curriculum.

We offer traditional and accelerated second degree programs at the baccalaureate level. At the graduate level, our Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) prepares baccalaureate graduates to become nurse practitioners specializing in adult-gerontology or families; an online MSN prepares RNs for careers in mid-level management and includes quality improvement, fiscal management, human resources, and informatics. Our post-master’s Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) online programs are designed for nurses seeking advanced leadership skills or specialized population-based care.

Responsibilities:

• Teaching intensive, clinical track nursing faculty position, primarily responsible for educating undergraduate and graduate nursing students in the clinical areas of behavioral and mental health
• Teaching in other undergraduate and graduate core courses
• Support curriculum development and evaluation
• Flexibility to teach on campus, online, and in hybrid delivery formats

Education Requirements:

• Required: unencumbered RN and APRN licenses in Connecticut
• Required: Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) certification
• Required: doctoral degree in nursing or related field

Qualifications:

• Current clinical practice as a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner or as a certified psychiatric clinical nurse specialist
• Experience with curriculum development
