Job Summary
As a Respiratory Therapist, you will provide essential treatment to patients according to physician orders and departmental policies, working independently in acute and critical care settings. You will consult with physicians and other healthcare personnel, offering recommendations that enhance patient care for all age groups from infants to geriatrics.

Key Responsibilities :
Independently perform respiratory therapy procedures per physician orders and departmental protocols. (20%)Obtain and analyze blood gases, ensuring precise reporting. (10%)Initiate, monitor, and manage various types of mechanical ventilation. (20%)Manage all types of airways and associated equipment. (10%)Document and charge all procedures accurately while providing education to patients and families. (10%)Communicate effectively with the healthcare team, providing thorough and appropriate reports. (10%)Follow infection control protocols and maintain equipment cleanliness. (10%)Utilize resources efficiently, including supplies and time. (n / a)Minimum Requirements :
Graduation from a Respiratory Therapy program accredited by the American Medical Association or eligibility for licensure in South Carolina.Certifications :
Must be licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner in South Carolina or be eligible for licensure. BLS certification is required. Maintain NBRC credentials.NRP and PALS certifications are required before working independently in NICU and PICU.Skills and Experience :
Ability to work effectively in a team setting.Strong communication, computer, and organizational skills are essential.Work Shift :
