F5 Inc. isseekinga highly skilled SeniorDevOpsEngineer (FTE)to join ourinnovativeteam in Seattle, Spokane, or San Jose.As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, implementing, andmaintainingadvanced DevOps solutions to accelerate software delivery, improve system reliability, and drive a culture of automation, security, and collaboration at scale.
Responsibilities
Lead design, development, and optimization ofCI/CD pipelinesusing industry-leading tools.
Architect and implementrobustInfrastructure as Code (IaC) for scalable,secureon-prem andcloud environments.
Drive automation of provisioning, deployment, testing, and monitoring leveraging scripting languages (Python, Bash).
Develop and manage containerized applications and orchestrate workloads with Docker and Kubernetes.
Utilize cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) tooptimizeinfrastructure performance, resilience,and cost.
Implement and support continuous monitoring, logging, and alertingutilizingtools such as Prometheus,Grafana,andOpenTelemetry(OTEL).
Apply configuration management solutions (Ansibleor other-Chef, Puppet, orSaltStack).
Champion DevSecOps practices by integrating security into all automated pipelines and infrastructure.
Lead troubleshooting and resolution of complex deployment, infrastructure, and system issues.
Collaborate cross-functionally withsoftware engineering, QA, product management, security, and IT operations throughout agile, cross-disciplinary teams.
Establish andmaintainclear, comprehensive documentationincludingprocedures, runbooks, technical solutionsto support team knowledge and operational excellence.
Mentor, coach, and provide technical leadership to DevOps engineers and advocate for best practices across engineering teams.
Drive process improvements, evaluate emerging technologies, and contribute to strategic DevOps roadmaps.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Extensive experience with CI/CD tools (GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Jenkins)
Deepexpertisein Infrastructure as Code: (Terraform/OpenTofu, AWS CloudFormation)
Advanced scripting abilities using Python and Bash/Shell.
Extensive experiencewith containers (Docker,Podman) and Kubernetes orchestration.
Strongexpertiseacross major cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP).
Solid knowledge of monitoring and logging stacks:Prometheus/Grafana,OTEL.
Proventrack recordwithconfiguration management tools: Ansible, Puppet, Chef,SaltStack.
Skilled in Git version control and workflows (GitHub, GitLab).
Advanced infrastructure security skills with hands-on expertise in tools such asHashicorpVault, Semgrep, and integrated CI/CD pipeline security.
Experience with artifact management (Artifactory, Docker Registry).
Exceptionaltroubleshooting and debugging skills in cloud, container, and distributed system environments.
Excellentwritten/verbal communication and documentation capabilities.
Demonstratedsuccessworkingin Agile/Scrum environments.
Demonstrated leadership capabilitiessuch as mentoring, technical guidance, and bestpracticesadvocacy.
Preferred Qualifications
Requires aBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related fieldor equivalent experience.
7+ years of experience designing, implementing, and supporting production systems in DevOps or cloud engineering roles (minimum 5 years with direct DevOps focus).
ProvenexpertiseinIaC, automation, and cloud securityat enterprise scale.
Significant experiencewith high-availability architectures, disaster recovery, performance tuning, and cost optimization strategies.
Exposure to multi-cloud and hybrid-cloud environments.
Prior leadership, mentoring, or team lead experience strongly preferred.
