Nexeo HR is hiring a Collections Specialist to join our client in the financial services sector located in Midvale, Utah. This is a great opportunity for individuals with experience in collections, customer service, or finance who excel at communication, problem-solving, and negotiation. As a Collections Specialist, youll work directly with customers to resolve delinquent accounts, set up repayment plans, and ensure compliance with state, federal, and FDCPA regulations. This is a full-time, on-site position with long-term career growth potential in a structured financial environment.

Responsibilities

Contact customers via phone regarding delinquent accounts

Identify reasons for delinquency and secure commitments for repayment

Negotiate repayment plans, settlements, or alternative arrangements

Update and maintain customer account information in the system

Follow established guidelines for collection strategies and remedies

Explain consequences of delinquency and walk customers through repayment options

Perform skip tracing and due diligence in compliance with regulations

Adhere to the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) and bankruptcy laws

Communicate professionally with borrowers, attorneys, and third parties

Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required

Previous experience in collections, banking, customer service, or finance preferred

Strong verbal communication and customer service skills

Ability to be firm yet professional when negotiating repayment solutions

Solid organization, prioritization, and follow-up skills

Knowledge of consumer loans, credit cards, overdrafts, and collection processes preferred

Familiarity with FDCPA and other regulatory requirements

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)

Must pass a background check and drug screening

Pay

$20.00 per hour
