Position Title : Identity And Driver Credential Specialist 1 (CDL Center)

Status : Full-Time

Salary : $32,000 / annually (non-negotiable)

Job Summary : As an Identity And Driver Credential Specialist 1 for DDS, you will help make everyday life possible for thousands of State of Georgia residents. The successful candidate in this role can make a positive impact on the lives of their customers that walk in whether its issuing learner permits to teens, welcoming newcomers by converting out-of-state licenses, awarding driver licenses to the first-time drivers by administering examinations or issuing identity cards in compliance with state laws and regulations. The focus of this position is working with and through others within established guidelines. The ability to interact comfortably with a diverse population is important. The successful candidate in this position must be friendly and genuinely interested in helping others. Patience and attention to detail is a major focus of the job, and those details need to be handled quickly, accurately, and efficiently.

Career Mobility : DDS believes in internal mobility and career advancement opportunities for our employees with satisfactory performance to transition from Identity And Driver Credential Specialist 1 to Identity And Driver Credential Specialist 2 with an increase of 10%.

Duties :

• Working with citizens to ensure applications, records, and documents are completed accurately.
• Accompanying drivers in vehicles for commercial skills tests and in both a traditional and virtual capacity for non-commercial skills tests, to evaluate their ability to adhere to Georgia's driving laws.
• Conducting driving examinations for motorcycle and commercial licenses in accordance with state law and regulations.
• Operating visual testing equipment.
• Accurately collecting payments via cash or credit cards.

Minimum Qualifications :

Preferred Qualifications : Preference will be given to those applicants who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualification above, also possess two or more of the following :

Working Conditions for this position are as follows : Road skills tests are conducted throughout the year in a variety of weather conditions including rain, wind, summer heat, and cold winter days. Testing begins in the early morning hours and continues through the early evening hours. The test runs approximately 30 minutes and commercial vehicle skills tests can run approximately 2 hours. Walking distances, standing, very little sitting, constant moving, good vision and hearing, climbing in trucks and commercial vehicles, bending, squatting, lifting, reaching, turning, riding in cars and trucks and commercial vehicles, driving cars and trucks and commercial vehicles, constant interaction with the public and co-workers are prerequisites.
