Harkcon, Inc. is seeking a Master Human Factors Engineer to provide Human Systems Integration (HSI) and Human Factors Engineering (HFE) support to the Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD), Integrated Combat Systems (ICS) Department (V). The successful candidate will support human-centered engineering, systems design, analysis, and evaluation activities within Government research, development, test, and evaluation (RDT&E) and systems acquisition programs.
Education Requirements
- Master of Science (MS) degree from a recognized engineering curriculum with a concentration in Human Factors, or
- Master of Science (MS) or Master of Arts (MA) degree in Engineering Psychology, Industrial and Organizational Psychology, or a related field with a Human Factors curriculum, or
- MS / MA degree in Human Factors programs recognized by the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society (HFES).
Experience Requirements
Twelve (12) years of experience in Government-related Research and Development (R&D), Test and Evaluation (T&E), and systems acquisition programs, andSeven (7) years of relevant experience in at least six (6) of the following areas :Human Factors Engineering Project Acquisition support
Human Factors Test and Evaluation (T&E)Platform Systems / Subsystems IntegrationHuman Factors Engineering Program PlanningHuman Systems Design Studies and AnalysisTraining Systems DevelopmentConducting Human Factors in Science and Technology (S&T) and R&D both in the laboratory and field settingsTactical decision-making processes, and individual and team performance assessmentWorkload assessmentReviewing and preparing HSI engineering and technical analyses, reports, change proposals, and other technical documentationUsability assessment and designDesign of habitability spaces (berthing, messing, galley, etc.)Environmental, Safety, and Occupational Health (ESOH) / OSHA requirements and designHabitability requirements and designThreat assessments and their impacts on personnel survivabilityHuman-computer interaction and graphical user interface designMIL-STD-1472 evaluation and complianceErgonomics evaluation and compliance, including maintenance accessibilityHuman research and experimental designSecurity Requirements
