A company is looking for a Cancer Registrar.
Key Responsibilities
Collects and documents data related to patients with malignancies, including type, extent of disease, treatment, and survival
Abstracts information from medical records and enters data in compliance with reporting guidelines
Provides follow-up information for external requests and assists in data retrieval for research purposes
Required Qualifications and Education
High School diploma or equivalent
Post High School Vocational / Specialized Training
2 years in an allied health profession with at least 1 year as a Cancer Registrar or completion of the Cancer Information Management program
Working knowledge of anatomy, physiology, basic statistics, and medical records operations
Current certification by the National Cancer Registrars Association or ability to obtain CTR certification within one year of employment
