About UT Tyler School of Medicine : The University of Texas at Tyler School of Medicine is the first medical school in East Texas and the seventh in The University of Texas System. About the Facilities : UT Health Henderson is a 96-bed short term acute care hospital offering comprehensive medical services, including a 24-hour emergency designated as a Level IV trauma center and Level III Stroke Center. The facility features advanced surgical suites, state-of-the-art diagnostic imaging, obstetrics, orthopedics, general surgery, and a dedicated sleep laboratory. UT Health Jacksonville is a 33-bed short-term acute care facility providing high-quality, patient-centered care to the community. This facility is a 24-hour emergency care center, designated as a Level IV Trauma Center and a Level IV Acute Stroke Facility, providing critical and time-sensitive care for a wide range of medical emergencies. It includes a six-bed Intensive Care Unit (ICU) to support patients requiring close monitoring and advanced critical care. The Labor and Delivery Department features modern LDRP suites (Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum), ensuring a seamless and family-centered childbirth experience. It also houses a Level I nursery for the care of healthy newborns. The hospital is equipped with fully functional surgical suites and state-of-the-art diagnostic imaging technology, including 3D mammography, enhancing early detection and diagnostic capabilities. UT Health East Texas is comprised of 9 hospitals, more than 90 clinics, the Olympic Plaza Tower, 13 regional rehabilitation facilities, two freestanding emergency centers, regional home health services covering 41 counties, an EMS fleet of more than 50 ambulances and four helicopters, and a comprehensive seven-trauma center care network, including the region’s only Level 1 trauma facility.
