Pet Care Specialist (Part-Time/Per Diem)

Responsibilities:

• Walk dogs of all breeds, sizes, and temperaments safely and confidently
• Provide care for cats and small animals (rabbits, guinea pigs, etc.)
• Feed, provide fresh water, administer basic oral medications (if needed), and clean up after pets
• Handle leash reactivity, pulling, multi-dog walks, and unexpected behavior safely
• Follow detailed care instructions and respect client homes
• Work independently and make sound decisions in the moment—support may not always be immediately available
• Communicate clearly with clients and the Brisco’s Buddies team using our mobile app (photos, updates, time logs)
• Monitor animal behavior and report any concerns promptly
• Maintain a calm, kind, and patient attitude—especially under pressure
• Be available and willing to work major holidays,

Requirements:

• Prior professional or personal experience in animal care
• Availability for evening and weekend shifts, including holidays
• Comfortable working independently with limited supervision
• Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license
• Smartphone with app capability for scheduling and communication
• Strong time management and follow-through—punctuality is a must
• Ability to work in all weather conditions and handle physically active shifts
• Must be 18+ and legally able to work in the U.S.

Bonus Skills (Not Required):

• Experience with senior pets, reactive dogs, or exotic animals
• Pet CPR or First Aid Certification
• Background in animal shelters, rescues, or veterinary assistance
