The Agency for Persons with Disabilities (APD) works in partnership with local communities to support people with developmental disabilities in living, learning, and working in their communities. APD provides critical services and support for customers with developmental disabilities to reach their full potential. The Agency serves people with spina bifida, autism, Down syndrome, children ages 3-5 at high risk of developmental disabilities, cerebral palsy, Prader-Willi syndrome, Phelan-McDermid syndrome, and intellectual disabilities. Salary Range : $37,127.79 - $40,840.57 Annually $1,427.99 - $1,570.79 Biweekly
The individual assigned to this position is responsible for performing prescribed care and treatment of patients under the direction of professional nursing staff and transportation for all off campus medical appointments. Perform simple nursing measures. Follow established performance standards and perform duties according to nursing service policies and procedures and observe all facility safety, infection control policy and procedures. Provide the necessary assistance to residents for daily living nursing care activities. Assist in obtaining urine, blood, and other specimens. Respond to residents' needs promptly and report concerns and observations to supervisor. The individual assigned to this position is responsible for transportation and loading and unloading of residents. Responsible for vehicle inspections before the end of their shift. Participate in emergency response on campus including but not limited to driving an emergency vehicle. Assist medical and nursing personnel during minor surgical procedures, and specialty clinics. Assist in maintaining and stocking inventory of medical, nursing, and central supplies. Perform all other related duties as directed by immediate supervisor or designee, including training.
Position Requirements
A valid Florida Driver's License. If hired with an out-of-state license a valid Florida State driver's license must be obtained within 30 days. Corrective Lenses Restricted license are acceptable provided the driver wears the corrective lenses while operating a state vehicle. Must be willing to perform essential services before, during, and after an emergency. Must be willing to work beyond the normal work schedule to maintain minimum coverage levels and meet the needs of the Agency. Must maintain certification in Prevention and Safety Strategies, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Direct Care In-Service. Possession of an active / valid Certified Nursing Assistant License. Complete all requirements to maintain license to include CEU's. Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds.

Ability to : lift up to 40 pounds. Climb, grasp, kneel, push / pull, reach above head, standing, stooping and bend at waist. Read. Plan, organize, and coordinate activities. Follow behavior support plans. Implement resident programs. Communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Read, teach and implement residents' support plans, formal and informal programs / interventions. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with others. Work as a team member. Operate software programs. Assist with evacuation of residents during an emergency. Demonstrate competency in all areas of training, some of which require physical activity such as PASS. Skills in : the use of emergency equipment within the scope of training. Communicating effectively verbally and in writing.
