Radiology Technologist – Per Diem/Relief (Variable Schedule)
Pay Range: $40.11–$60.17 per hour
Pay depends on factors such as education, training, experience, seniority, and any applicable union agreements.
PeaceHealth is hiring a Radiology Technologist to work on a per diem/relief basis. This role supports several clinic locations throughout the Eugene/Springfield area and will be scheduled as needed. Shifts vary and may include evenings and weekends.
What You’ll Do
- Prepare exam rooms with the right supplies, equipment, and setup for each procedure.
- Plan your daily workflow and complete basic clerical tasks as needed.
- Review prior imaging, lab results, and patient medical history to ensure the best quality exam.
- Choose and perform the most appropriate imaging exam, consulting with physicians when needed.
- Explain procedures to patients before and after exams.
- Provide training to staff or students when requested.
- Adjust exams based on patient needs and respond to issues that may come up during care.
- Perform X‑ray exams while following infection control and radiation safety guidelines.
- Follow ALARA principles to protect patients, visitors, and yourself.
- Confirm pregnancy status when appropriate.
- Carry out other duties within your training and certification.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned.
What You Need
Experience
- At least 1 year of relevant experience (preferred).
- Ability to apply age‑appropriate care principles (required).
- Competency in venipuncture (required).
- Experience with PACS/RIS systems (required).
Credentials
- Oregon Radiologic Technologist license (OBMI)
- A temporary OBMI license is acceptable while waiting for ARRT certification.
- Currently enrolled in an accredited Radiologic Technology program, or Graduate of an accredited program.
- Candidates may be ARRT‑eligible at hire, but ARRT(R) must be obtained within 6 months.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification at time of hire.
Skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and adapt in a fast‑changing environment.
- Comfortable using standard office equipment (phones, computers, copier, etc.).
- Strong organizational and problem‑solving skills.
