Schedule : Straight Nights (7 : 30pm- 7 : 30 am), including weekends and holidays as needed
Position Summary :
White Plains Hospital is seeking a dedicated Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our Neurology team . Under the general supervision of an attending physician, the PA / NP will provide comprehensive medical care to neurology patients, including stroke consults, inpatient rounding, procedures, and patient education . This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a collaborative, high-acuity setting while delivering exceptional neurological care .
Key Responsibilities :
- Perform initial assessments , obtain medical histories, conduct physical exams, and develop treatment plans for Neurology patients.
- Respond to stroke codes and neurology consultations , managing both inpatient and outpatient care.
- Order, review, and interpret laboratory tests and imaging studies .
- Assist in invasive procedures such as phlebotomy, arterial blood gas sampling, catheter insertions, wound care, and suture / staple removal.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including physicians, rehabilitation specialists, and care management teams , to ensure coordinated care.
- Document medical records accurately and prepare discharge summaries and post-discharge instructions .
- Prescribe and manage medications, including controlled substances, in accordance with hospital protocols and NYS regulations.
- Ensure compliance with NCQA, TJC, and state / federal regulatory standards .
