We are seeking a Gastroenterology Physician for a locum tenens opportunity in a hospital setting. This role includes handling inpatient consults and endoscopies with a focus on adult patient care. The locum will be responsible for participating in a call structure approximately every 1 in 4 weeks, covering from Friday 4 PM to the following Friday 4 PM. This engagement offers the chance to work with an experienced team starting mid-December 2025.

    • Job Responsibilities

  • Conduct and interpret esophageal dilatation / manometry and small bowel biopsy.
  • Perform lower GI endoscopy, sigmoidoscopy, colonoscopy, and liver biopsy.
  • Handle various upper GI endoscopies, including diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, with requirements such as banding of varices and PEG.
  • Collaborate with a team of four physicians to manage a patient load of 4–12 per day.

    • Qualifications

  • Certifications : Board Certified / Board Eligible (BC preferred), BLS
  • Licenses : Active Massachusetts license
  • ERCP certification is a bonus but not mandatory.

    • Working Hours

  • On-call from Friday 4 PM to the following Friday 4 PM

    • Skills

  • Proficiency in EPIC EMR
  • Strong interpersonal skills for patient interaction
  • Efficient time management and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to perform in high-pressure environments and carry a beeper overnight
