Patient Care Tech

Patient Care Techs provide personal care; health-related services; and assist with activities of daily living. Patient Care Techs function under the direction; instruction; and supervision of nursing staff. Patient Care Techs have a professional obligation to participate in committee activities; surveys; improvement initiatives; and continuing education.

Required Licenses/Certifications:

• CPR-BCLS

Required Skills; Knowledge; and Abilities:

• Input data into computer programs.
• Communication and public relation skills.
• Obtain manual or electronic vital signs.
• Work with therapeutic equipment.
• Answer telephones.
• Collaborate care with nurses and report patient concerns promptly.
• Ability to follow safety guidelines.
• Ensures excellent time and attendance.
• Ability to handle confidential information and follow HIPAA Compliance.
• Maintain professional appearance at all times.
