Kelso Southwest is a newly formed operating company within Kelso Industries, focused on delivering high-quality mechanical construction solutions across the Southwest. Backed by a national MEP+ platform, Kelso Southwest supports complex commercial and industrial projects while building strong teams, processes, and long-term client relationships.
About the RoleThe Project Engineer supports the successful planning and execution of mechanical construction projects by assisting Project Managers and field teams with coordination, documentation, and communication. This role plays a key part in keeping projects organized, on schedule, and aligned with contract requirements while gaining exposure across the full project lifecycle.
Support Project Managers with day-to-day project execution and coordination
Review drawings, specifications, and contract documents for scope alignment
Track and manage RFIs, submittals, and project documentation
Maintain accurate and organized project files, drawings, and specifications
Coordinate with Superintendents, Foremen, subcontractors, and vendors
Assist with material submittals, procurement tracking, and delivery schedules
Participate in jobsite visits to support field coordination and verify progress
Assist with change order documentation, scope tracking, and pricing support
Support constructability reviews and coordination meetings
Assist with as-built drawings and project closeout documentation
Support jobsite safety documentation and compliance requirements
Communicate project updates and issues to the Project Manager in a timely manner
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (preferred)
3–5+ years of experience in mechanical construction or MEP environment
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
Familiarity with mechanical systems (HVAC, piping, or industrial mechanical work)
Experience using Procore, Bluebeam, or similar construction software preferred
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Clear communication skills and a collaborative mindset
