We are seeking an experienced Senior Database Administrator (DBA) responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, security, and performance optimization of enterprise databases. This role supports mission‑critical data platforms across SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, and PostgreSQL environments—both on‑premises and in the cloud.
The ideal candidate is highly skilled in managing large, high‑availability MySQL and PostgreSQL environments, experienced in SQL Server and Oracle administration, and adept at driving automation, architecture planning, and operational excellence across multiple database systems.
You will work closely with development, DevOps, and infrastructure teams to optimize performance, streamline deployments, and ensure seamless data operations.
Key Responsibilities
Database Platform Administration
- Install, configure, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server (SSMS, SSRS, SSIS, SSAS)
- Set up new databases, servers, and related infrastructure
- Administer SQL Server clustering, replication, and high‑availability solutions
- Manage MySQL and PostgreSQL databases in high‑availability, large‑scale environments
- Maintain Oracle databases, including RAC, Data Guard, OEM, and RMAN backup strategies
Performance, Reliability & Monitoring
Monitor and maintain database performance, integrity, and securityAnalyze query execution plans and optimize SQL queriesIdentify and resolve deadlocks and slow‑running queriesPerform index tuning, statistics updates, and consistency checksUtilize monitoring tools (SQL Profiler, Extended Events, Performance Monitor, OEM, shell scripts)Upgrades, Migrations & Patching
Perform database upgrades, patches, and migrationsSupport on‑premises to Azure migrationsManage Azure Managed Instances and cloud‑based databases (Azure, AWS RDS, EC2)Implement DR testing, backups, restorations, and failover validationSecurity & Compliance
Apply database security measures including TDE, auditing, and access controlsEnsure compliance with STIG, encryption, and regulatory standardsManage user accounts, roles, permissions, and audit trailsDocumentation & Reporting
Maintain comprehensive database documentation including architecture diagrams, configuration baselines, and change logsGenerate reports for performance metrics, growth trends, capacity planning, and utilizationOperational Support
Provide Tier 3 support for database‑related incidentsParticipate in on‑call rotationsTroubleshoot and resolve platform‑level and integration‑level issuesRequired Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related fieldOracle and SQL certifications preferred5–10+ years of DBA experience, including enterprise‑level SQL Server and Oracle administrationProficiency with :SQL Server clustering, Always‑On Availability GroupsOracle RAC, RMAN, Data Guard, OEMMySQL and PostgreSQL in high‑availability environmentsAzure Managed Instance, Azure SQL, AWS RDS, EC2Strong Linux shell scripting skillsExperience with on‑premises to cloud migration projectsSkilled in performance tuning, optimization, and troubleshooting
