Job Summary/Description:
The CBS affiliate in Florida's capital city has a rare opening for a primary evening anchor to join the team that leads the best news coverage in the region. The right candidate is a seasoned newsroom leader, an eager coach and mentor, a talented storyteller, and possesses a heart for community service projects.
Duties/Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Anchor several of our most-watched newscasts in the early and late evening dayparts
- Help develop ideas and concepts for streaming opportunities and digital coverage
- Work closely with co-anchors and producers to ensure story selection and quality of broadcast are clean, compelling, and consistent
- Demonstrate ability to connect with viewers and the community both on and off the desk
- Generate story/segment ideas
- Contribute content to digital platforms as assigned
- Build local contacts and relationships
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications/Requirements:
-Minimum years anchoring and reporting in a commercial newsroom
-Non-linear editing experience
-Degree in journalism
-A valid driver's license, good driving record, and proof of insurability
