You will join our Corporate Ratings team — a collaborative, expert-driven group where analysts with diverse backgrounds produce high-quality, criteria-driven credit research.

The Impact and Responsibilities:

Impact:

You will support the team's surveillance and rating activities by producing accurate, timely credit analysis that informs committee decisions and external publications, helping maintain S&P Global Ratings' reputation for integrity and transparency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support surveillance of a portfolio of rated corporate issuers through financial statement analysis, forecasting, and industry research

  • Build and maintain financial models used for committee reviews and ratings analysis

  • Draft written materials for internal committee use and external publications, synthesizing analysis into clear, well-supported conclusions

  • Identify and flag issues in financial analysis and credit assessments with strong attention to detail

  • Collaborate with team members to achieve common goals and contribute to team initiatives

  • Take initiative to provide support to team and seek ways to work with others outside of given tasks

Canadian Candidates: S&P Global states that the anticipated range of compensation for this position is CAD 60,000 to CAD 90,000. Final compensation for this role will be based on the individual’s performance, geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses, and certifications. In accordance with Ontario's new regulations effective January 1, 2026, this job posting provides information on expected compensation. What We're Looking For:

Basic Required Qualifications:

  • An S&P Global employee at this level would typically have 0–1 years of relevant experience in corporate credit analysis, investment banking, accounting, or related finance roles

  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting, or a quantitative discipline

  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

  • Strong financial statement analysis skills and understanding of accounting principles

  • Demonstrated interest in pursuing CFA certification or similar professional credentials

  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills

  • Ability to understand team's broader goals and how individual work contributes to overall objectives

  • All employees are required to work from the office a minimum of 2 days per week

  • We require all candidates who reach the final stage of our interview process to attend at least one in-person interview, which is ordinarily at your nearest S&P Global Ratings office. This must be completed before we can proceed to an offer

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior internship or work experience in credit research, corporate finance, or related analytical roles

  • Familiarity with sector dynamics and industry research methodologies

  • Experience working collaboratively in team environments

  • Demonstrated ability to assess urgency in tasks and manage multiple priorities
