Senior Director, Global Head FP&A Summary The Senior Director, Global Head FP&A is a key strategic leader responsible for leading the global FP&A function for a private equity–backed life sciences services company.
This role partners closely with executive leadership and the private equity sponsor to drive financial reporting and forecasting, operational planning, and enterprise-wide value creation for a leading CRO in the biomarker laboratory services segment.
The successful candidate will bring deep analytical expertise, a strong understanding of a life sciences services company (e.g., capacity utilization, project margins, pricing structure, backlog forecasting, % complete revenue recognition), and the ability to operate as a trusted advisor to executive leadership and investors.
Key Responsibilities Financial Performance & Forecasting Own forecasting accuracy and monthly financial performance management Build and maintain reporting frameworks for backlog, bookings, revenue, costs, and cash flow Translate operational metrics into financial insight and predictive forecasts Lead scenario modeling related to demand volatility, staffing ramps, pricing changes, and regulatory impacts Establish consistent forecasting processes across regions and business units Strategic Planning & Value Creation Lead long-range planning, annual budget, and rolling forecast processes; Work with divisional leaders to ensure visibility into demand, capacity, backlog, and performance Analyze key operational and financial drivers including resource and capacity utilization, standard costs and billable rates, contract mix, backlog to revenue conversion, productivity Support M&A (acquisitions, add-ons, and integrations), including financial modeling, diligence support, and synergy tracking Executive, Board & Private Equity Engagement Serve as primary FP&A interface with the private equity sponsor team Prepare board deck financials, KPI reporting, and other investor analyses Deliver insights on growth, profitability, and operational performance Organizational Leadership & Infrastructure Lead and coach a high-performing global FP&A team Drive standardization of reporting, planning tools, and data governance Partner with finance, IT, and operations to improve forecasting systems and business intelligence tools Optimize financial processes for scale, visibility, and transaction-readiness Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field (MBA, CPA, or CFA preferred) 10+ years of FP&A, corporate finance, consulting, or investment experience Experience in life sciences services (CRO, CDMO, diagnostics, or laboratory services) preferred Experience in private equity–owned or highly growth-oriented organizations strongly preferred Strong financial modeling and forecasting expertise Strong executive communication and presentation skills Willing to work Eastern Time Zone hours Experience working with global, cross-functional teams Key Competencies Strong business acumen and judgement with knowledge of CellCarta's market and services Expertise in services model economics and utilization-based modeling Knowledge of US GAAP accounting regulations and company accounting policies and practices Strong workload prioritization, resource management, and project management Highly analytical, detail-oriented, and disciplined Ability to drive change and alignment across commercial, operations, and finance Comfortable operating in dynamic environments with evolving priorities Effective influencer and communicator Performance Objectives Forecast accuracy and reliability EBITDA improvement driven through analytics and insights Utilization and margin optimization Quality and usefulness of board / investor reporting FP&A talent development and team scalability Readiness for acquisition, integration, and exit Work Arrangement & Location This position is 100% remote and can be based anywhere within the US Benefits We offer a wide range of benefits including :
