Primary Purpose: Ensure that students will gain the knowledge and skills needed to enter the workforce as a health science professional or to prepare for a postsecondary degree in the STEM (Engineering) industry.
Qualifications:Education/Certification: - A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or required training for the subject and level assigned
PLTW Training Requirement - All engineering teachers are required to complete a one-time 80-hour (2-week) online course for each PLTW course that they teach.
Special Knowledge/Skills: - Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in safety, handling, and proper use of tools, equipment, and PPE
- Ability to effectively communicate and work with students, peers, parents, administrators, business partners, and community members.
- Ability to create and manage interactive, innovative, hands-on projects for student engagement and effectively teach and work with high school students.
- Have a working knowledge of the objectives, TEKS, and PLTW Outcomes, of courses in the program.
Experience: At least one year student teaching or approved internship
Salary: Teacher Pay Scale/10 months
