Job Description
The Cook position is responsible for the preparation, production, and presentation of a variety of foods, completion of production sheets, and other associated food service activities for an Assisted Living kitchen.
Responsibilities
- Performs all main line food production duties.
- Prepares food as indicated by par level sheets and in accordance with Nutritional Services and Health Department standards.
- Reviews daily needs with supervisors, completes production sheets, verifies supply needs and availability.
- Ensures quality control and sanitation of assigned areas.
- Assists in training food service personnel.
- Coordinates with food service workers for smaller item preparation.
- Oversees food serving lines and coffee bars, ensuring proper stock levels.
- Instructs others on proper FIFO rotation procedures for all food items.
- Follows Food Safety Standards (HACCP).
- Completes temperature and sanitation logs for freezers, coolers, and warming stations.
- Supports active safety programs.
- May assist other food service staff as needed.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- This position has supervisory responsibilities.
Qualifications
High School diploma or GED equivalent.Alaska Food Handlers Card or ServSafe certification within 30 days of hire.At least one (1) year of general food service experience.Must provide immunization records for TB or be willing to receive the vaccination if offered.Ability to speak, understand, read, and write English.Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

Environment : Industrial kitchen in an assisted living setting.
Physical requirements : Ability to lift / move up to 50 lbs; frequently sit, stand, walk, handle objects, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, hear, see, taste, smell.
Travel : None.
Note : Proof of TB clearance required during onboarding.
