Our client, a well-known insurance firm, is looking for a Junior PHP Web Developer to join a growing technology team and help build and maintain high-quality web applications. The ideal candidate is passionate about software development, eager to learn from experienced engineers, and enjoys working in a collaborative environment where clean, maintainable code and continuous improvement are valued.

This is a hybrid position based in Houston.

Responsibilities :

  • Work closely with developers and stakeholders to meet project objectives and deadlines.
  • Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code that adheres to established standards.
  • Assist in testing, debugging, and maintaining web applications and databases to ensure strong performance and reliability.
  • Contribute to documentation for technical processes, system design, and feature implementation.
  • Support the development and deployment of new features while participating in the full software development lifecycle.
  • Follow Agile methodologies and best practices under the mentorship of senior developers.

Qualifications :

  • 3+ years of professional PHP development experience.
  • Must have modern frameworks such as Symfony or Laravel.
  • Familiarity with front-end technologies, including HTML5, CSS, Sass, and JavaScript (Stimulus or similar frameworks preferred).
  • Experience integrating RESTful APIs and working with microservice-based architectures.
  • Working knowledge of SQL databases, ideally MySQL.
  • Understanding of modern design patterns, software architecture principles, and web security best practices.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
  • Interest in ongoing learning and professional growth.
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish is a plus.
