Appointment Length Regular Continuous / Until Further Notice Hiring Range $50,400 - $57,750 About this Position Join our team as a compliance accountant in the cost and reporting area within the OSU Tax and Compliance department where you will play a key role in the following functions : Payroll & Benefits reconciliation - perform monthly reconciliations of benefit liability funds and payroll withholding accounts, research reconciling items and make corrections as needed, perform the monthly reconciliation of the OMES 789 fund, and assist with the preparation of the annual fringe benefit rate proposal. Special Projects - contribute to key projects such as store pricing and rate structure, Indirect Cost rate proposals, HERD survey, and World University Rankings by assisting with data collection and workpapers. (degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date) Univ Acct I - no experience required. Univ Acct II - two years of related experience. Univ Acct III - five years of related experience. Skills, Proficiencies, and / or Knowledge : Accuracy and detail-oriented mindset. Self-motivated with the ability to work independently. Analytical Skills : Proficiency in interpreting data, identifying trends, and drawing meaningful conclusions to inform strategic initiatives. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs (Excel, Teams, Word, Outlook) Understanding of advanced functions in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.). Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's Accounting 2+ years of related experience. Skills, Proficiencies, and / or Knowledge : Critical Thinking : Ability to analyze complex situations, evaluate options, and make well-reasoned decisions. Payroll processing experience.
